Welcome!

As you pass by an idea you want, you should beg for it. Borrow it. Or even steal it. This blog is all about things you will want to beg for, borrow, and/or steal! No worries! There is no penalty for stealing - Rather I'm excited to share my ideas! Many of these ideas and inspirations I've "stolen" from other places.

Wedding Invites

Wedding invites! (In case someone else can use these for inspiration). I am so excited with how they turned out...

I had my sister design the 5 x 7 in. invites in adobe illustrator and we had them printed on a pearlescent white/ivory card stock. We also had mini prints printed from printstagr.am to include in the invite. Finally we bought a bunch of fun scrapbooking paper from Hobby Lobby and borrow a cricut to cut out a bunch of customized "confetti". This gave guest a little extra surprise when they opened the invitation!

We ordered taupe brown recycled paper envelopes from paperandmore.com. The labels we printed ourselves on the transparent labels you can buy from any major office or department store. To jazz them up a bit we utilized the same wood grain background.

Finally, the envelopes were sealed with a picture sticker, which we also ordered from printstagr.am

Wedding Boutonnieres

I also made boutonnieres for the wedding, with the help of my sister. Here is what we came up with:

We used artificial branches, flowers, and plants. We also cut strands from the peacock feathers to give a little more interest.

Wedding Brooch Bouquet

For my wedding bouquet I was set on making a brooch bouquet. I found some inspiration on pinterest as well as a tutorials on youtube. Overall, I am thrilled with how it turned out, and it was a really rewarding project.

Supplies:
Brooches (approx. 12)
Wire
Artificial flowers (approx. 15-20 flowers)
Floral Tape
Fabric
Ribbon

Here are links to the tutorials I followed to create my bouquet.

The only difference I did was how to hide the wires underneath. I used my sheer ribbon to make a bunch of little loops, and then taped them to the stem of the flowers using floral tape.

Succulents in Tea Cups!

Need a good gift idea? Give a succulent in a Tea Cup!

Here is what you need:
-Tea Cups & Saucers (Go to garage sales or antique stores and get them cheap)
-Coffee filter
-Cactus/Succulent potting soil (I got mine from Lowes)
-Succulents (I got mine from Lowes)
-Decorative rocks (I got mine from Walmart)
-Drill bits for glass and tile (I used Bosch Glass & Tile Drill Bit from Home Depot)

Instructions:
1. Lay your tea cup upside down on a towel. Use the glass drill bit to drill a hole in the bottom of the cup. We found it works best to use the drill bits dry, instead of spraying water like some people suggest.
2. Lay a small piece of coffee filter in the bottom of the cup to keep the soil from running out of the hole you just created
3. Place your succulent in the tea cup and fill the extra space with cactus potting soil.
4. Top with decorative rocks.
5. Enjoy your succulent!

You can use pretty much any shape/size pot or bowl that has a hole in the bottom to allow for fast draining:

Student Flyers

Check out the flyers my computer applications students made:

Basically the students had to think of a talent they had and make a flyer to advertise their service. It's a fun activity to get to know my students a little better and see what they are able to create on the computer!

Video Clip Lecture

Here's an idea... create short video clips of lecture using small white boards, and allows students to watch them at their own pace. You can even create a video quest for the students to fill out while they watch you teach.

Check out an example of one of my video clips below:
